Introducing Vic the Monster!

Many centuries ago, back in 1457, a strange sea monster was spotted in the Fleet Lagoon, a shallow area between Chesil Beach in Weymouth, Dorset and the mainland. The sighting terrified the local people and not least the fishermen and sailors who had the fright of their lives whenever he reared his head above the water! Over time though, everyone realised that the sea monster, who’s name is Vic the Vista Monster, never meant to scare anyone. In fact, he’s only interested in having fun with the younger visitors to Chesil Vista Holiday Park.

After spending several hundred years alone in the lagoon, the owners of Chesil Vista Holiday Park in Weymouth have now decided to invite Vic the Vista Monster to spend some time on land. In fact, from March 2011 he will be a permanent resident at the holiday park, and will be making regular appearances as the Park’s new mascot.

He’ll be easy to spot – he’s a blue sea monster after all! His distinctive yellow tummy and fins will be instantly recognisable, and he’ll always be having fun around the Park so is likely to have a big smile on his face! Guests needn’t be afraid to say hello if they see him around – he loves spending time with them and helping them to have a fun holiday at Chesil Vista. In fact Vic wants as many guests to visit him as possible, and the new Vic the Vista Monster Fun Time – playtime with Vic - is just one of the many times that guests can get to know him better.

To celebrate the arrival of Vic the Vista Monster at Chesil Vista Holiday Park, all children will receive a ‘Jurrasic Explorer’ pack containing quizzes, puzzles, games and challenges to keep them busy throughout their stay. Guests can use the pack to learn from Vic all he knows about the dramatic Jurrassic coastline, which he has been exploring for the last several hundred years.

Because the Park is located right on the water’s edge, guests who are staying in one of the many caravans at Chesil which have sea views, may even spot him in the water as well as around the park! No matter where they see him though, he’ll be sure to be helping holidaymakers have as much fun as possible while they relax and explore at Chesil Vista Holiday Park.
