Waterside Holiday Group Ltd has announced today that it has adopted a no-smoking policy in all of the buildings and facilities at its two holiday parks in Weymouth, Dorset.
Managing Director Graham Frampton commented:
“As a family company, we have always tried to be an industry leader both in terms of the facilities that we provide and the service that we offer our guests. We feel that in the current climate a no-smoking policy is a natural extension of this.”
The main motivation behind the move was to ensure the comfort of all guests, but particularly children, when using the Park’s facilities. The change in policy wasn’t taken lightly as Graham Frampton explains:
“The views of our caravan owners and guests were extremely important in making this decision. Having consulted them extensively we found that the overwhelming majority were in favour of a no-smoking policy and as a family company we consider it a positive move.”
The change has been welcomed by customers booking their holidays with reservations staff reporting very positive comments. Customers who had booked their holiday prior to the change being announced are being offered a full refund if they feel that they don’t want to come but the vast majority seem pleased.
Prior to the Parks reopening on 18 March, the company is constructing designated areas outside the main facilities for those guests who wish to smoke. The company continues to offer a mixture of smoking and non-smoking caravans to hire.
