Chesil Vista is perfectly situated for exploring the surrounding area. On our doorstep is Weymouth with its Georgian seafront, golden sandy beach and picturesque harbour.

We’re also right on the edge of the Jurassic Coast, one of the most beautiful stretches in the UK and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Inland, the countryside is just as stunning, and home to pretty villages and popular towns like Dorchester, Bridport and Poole. Fantastic attractions like Monkey World, Abbotsbury Swannery, Corfe Castle and the Tank Museum are also close by. And the National Sailing Academy, venue for the 2012 Olympic and paralympic sailing events, is literally round the corner.

King Charles II, having visited more counties than anyone else at the time, declared on visiting Dorset that he never saw a finer county, either in England or out of it. Who are we to disagree?

From April until the end of the summer, Weymouth is awash with colourful entertainment and exciting events from first thing in the morning to brilliant firework displays until well after dark.

Local Attractions

Many guests at Chesil Vista book their holidays to coincide with local events. There are baby swans hatching at the Abbotsbury Swannery in May, the Spirit of the Sea Festival in Weymouth in July, the carnival in Weymouth in August and the Dorset County Show in September, to name but a few.
